TEB Bank and EBRD presented Women in Business Program achievements

TEB Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) organized in Pristina the Women in Business event.




The purpose of this organization was to present the achievements of Women in Business Program implemented by EBRD and TEB Bank during 2015-2018.
This event marked the promotion of women entrepreneurship and in general the participation of women in business, by helping Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) led by women in order to have access to finances, knowledge and non-financial business development services to show that when failures are addressed, barriers are removed and that businesses run by women are given equal opportunities, will succeed in terms of economic performance and growth, job creation and a range of other social benefits.

Besian Demiri, SME manager at TEB, spoke about the importance of the program within the TEB Bank and the cooperation with EBRD.
“To me this event represent a raised awareness on the potential of entrepreneurship related initiatives, progress in institutional approach and more significantly a synergy between institutions that increase the mobilization and impact opportunities”, he said.
“Ever since we incorporated entrepreneurship as part of our SME strategy and launched “Women Entrepreneurship Program” as a program that targets women entrepreneurs, the bank has become very entrepreneurship centered and strives to promote it as much as it can “, Demiri said.
Part of the panel of the forum was also Biljana Scekic, regional head of EBRD Advice for Businesses, Neil Taylor, head of EBRD office in Kosovo.

Part of the activity was also the award ceremony of the most successful entrepreneurs and contributors to the empowerment of women entrepreneurs, as well as the exposure of businesses run by women in Kosovo.
Since 2015, TEB and EBRD have organized seminars and training in different cities of Kosovo, and these activities were in the scope of non-financial services provided by TEB Sh.A. through the “Women Entrepreneurship Program”.
The “Entrepreneurship Program for Women” is the unique product offered by TEB Sh.A. for the economic empowerment of women.
